Sukhumvit, well known for its street markets,
bazaar and local vendors. Bargain prices for T shirts, jeans,
shoes, calculators, watches, jewellry and souvenirs. Close
by is the Emporium which also contains cinemas. The area has
good restaurants and entertainment facilities, so if you want
a central location with good accommodation, shopping and transport,
this is it!
Quiet enough away from the hustle and bustle, and close enough
to hop on the Skytrain (Asok BTS station and Sukhumvit Metro
Station are merely 1 minute walk) to explore all Bangkok has
to offer in entertainment and shopping. Ideally located at
Sukhumvit Soi 19, Sam's Lodge is just two blocks away from
Robinson Department Store. Government offices and several
businesses are located nearby on Pahonyothin, Phayathai and
Phetchburi Roads. The airport expressway is just 5 minutes. |

| If shopping or business is high on your agenda
and you require a location slap-bang in the middle of all the
action, then you are at the right place. The area around Sukhumvit
Road, Phloenchit Road and Chidlom is to Bangkok what Orchard
Road is to Singapore, and Knightsbridge to London. Some of Bangkok's
finest malls can be found here as the likes of Robinson, Emporium,
Gaysorn, Peninsula Plaza, Amarin Plaza and the newly-revamped
CentralWorld, the later which is now the largest mall in Southeast
Asia. The area in front of CentralWorld is also Bangkok's official
New Year countdown venue. Along with these great malls come
some wonderful hotels, restaurants, skytrain (BTS) connections
(Asok) and Subway (MRT) (Sukhumvit) all conveniently connected
with modern, elevated walkways. Emporium department store is
another highlight, and many embassies are also located close
by on Wireless and Ratchadamri Roads. A variety of good restaurants
and fine serviced apartments can be found down Sukhumvit Road,
while the Siam area with more high-end shopping at Siam Paragon,
Siam Centre and Siam Discovery (and MBK for bargain shopping!)
is very close . So too the attractions of Silom, and the Sathorn
business district. Did we mention that Bangkok's biggest park,
Lumpini Park, and Suan Lum Night Bazaar are just ten minutes
away by taxi? |
